Lent Reconciliation Service

Lent is a period of devout preparation for the celebration of Easter. The Son of Man calls us to holiness and blamelessness in the sight of God. Are we ready to face him face to face? All the comings of Jesus are Gospel, Good News. God is greater than our sins, our faults and our despair and is leading us to a greater love for the world an our own selves. Participate in our Lent Reconciliation Service to be celebrated this Thursday evening at 7:30 at the church. The following priests will be available for individual confession. Rev. Msgr. Charles B. King PA VF, Rev. James Pemberton, Rev. Timothy D. Thompson JCL, and Rev. James Flynn. Fathers Pemberton, Thompson and Flynn are also Spanish speakers.

Servicio de Reconciliacion

La cuaresma es un periodo de devota preparación de la celebración de la Pascua. El Hijo del Hombre nos llama a la santidad y presentarnos limpios de culpa ante Dios. Estamos listos para encontrarnos con El cara a cara? Todas las venidas de Jesus son Evangelio, Buenas Nuevas. Dios es mas grande que nuestros pecados, nuestras faltas, y nuestra desesperacion y nos guia a un gran amor por el mundo y por nosotros mismos. Participe en nuestro Servicio de la Reconciliacion de la Cuaresma que se celebrara este Jueves a las 7:30 de la noche en la iglesia. Los siguientes sacerdotes estaran disponibles Rev. Msgr. Lent At Holy Cross

Lent is a time set apart for us to build both our relationship with God and one another. In the Stewardship context, time refers to that part of our lives spent in prayer with our God. To help us with this, each Friday evening of Lent we will have Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament. During the Exposition, we will pray the Stations of the Cross, have an hour of silent Adoration and conclude with Night Prayer. During the Exposition, the Sacrament of Reconciliation will also be available.

During Lent, Fridays are considered days of abstinence. Abstinence means persons 14 years of age and older do not eat meat/ To help observe the day of Abstinence, the Knights of Columbus will be hosting a fish fry on Fridays from 5pm to 7pm prior to the Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament.

English Safe Environment Session

The next initial English Safe Environment session will be held on March 9 at 6:30 PM in the Adult Formation Building. If anyone in your ministry has not had the initial training, please let them know about this class. This training is mandatory for any volunteer working with our children and youth.

Registration is required so that aduquate training materials are available; please call Carolyn at 972-625-7143 or email SafeEnvironment@HolyCrosscc.org to register. If there are no registrations, class will be canceled.

Kevin Vann will be the celebrant and all diocesan priests have been invited to celebrate with Bishop Vann.

Good Friday and Ash Wednesday

are the major days for fasting in the Universal Church for those who have reached the age of 18 and are not yet 60. Fasting means small meals with no snacks, while Abstinence means no meat on those days for those who are age 14 [or over]. In addition, all Fridays of Lent are days of Abstinence for Catholics living in the United States.

Son los días mayores de ayuno en la Iglesia Universal para aquellos entre las edades de 18 y 60 años de edad. El ayuno significa comer pequeñas porciones de comida y sin entremeses. 7:30 PM Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament with Stations of the Cross followed by a Holy Hour and the availability of the Sacrament of Reconciliation. The Friday Lenten Service will continue with Night Prayer from the Liturgy of the Hours and Reposition of the Blessed Sacrament at 9:00 PM.

First Communion Workshops

Will be held on Thursday, April 8, in English at 6:30pm - 7:15pm., and the Spanish at 7:30pm - 8:15pm or Saturday, April 10, in Spanish at 9:30am - 10:15am. and in English at 10:30am - 11:15am. Workshop 2 and rehersal will be on Thursday, April 29. Please refer to the letter your student will bring home for these times.

Cuaresma en Holy Cross

La Cuaresma es un tiempo reservado para nosotros para construir tanto nuestra relación con Dios y entre sí. En el contexto de Administración, el tiempo se refiere a esa parte de nuestra vida paso en oracion con nuestro Dios. Para ayudarnos con esto, todos los viernes de Cuaresma tendremos la Exposición del Santísimo Sacramento. Durante la Exposición, rezaremos las Estaciones de la Cruz, tiene una hora de adoración en silencio y concluiremos con la oración de la noche. Durante la exposición, el Sacramento de la Reconciliación también estará disponible.

Durante la Cuaresma, los viernes son considerados dias de abstinencia. La palabra abstinencia significa que las personas mayores de 14 años de edad no deberían de comer carne. Para ayudar a observar el día de abstinencia, los Caballeros de Colón tendrán el Pescado frito los Viernes de 5pm a 7pm. antes de la Exposición del Santísimo Sacramento.

Holy Cross Master Plan Presentation

On Tuesday, November 3, 2009, our Parish Building Committee presented the diocesan approved Holy Cross Master Plan to interested member of our parish. The meeting was hosted by the Building Committee and out leturgical consultant. Our architect BCDM presented the plan. The master plan presentation can be viewed here:
